Wire Bulks was established in 2013 by our founder Ben, who started the venture in his bedroom at the age of 19. Initially conceived as a means to support his passion for a career in golf, the business quickly outgrew its humble beginnings, necessitating the acquisition of a dedicated warehouse space and the hiring of staff.
Wire Bulks gained recognition on eBay by offering a diverse array of components (including, of course, switches!) to hobbyists. Swiftly rising to prominence, it emerged as the top seller on the platform for component sales, solidifying its reputation as a leading supplier in the industry.
3 years later, Wire Bulks expanded into the adjacent warehouse, managing a staggering influx of over 300 orders per day. Additionally, it evolved into a family affair with Ben’s triplet siblings, Alex and Hannah, joining the company, further bolstering its operations and familial bond.
In 2017, Wire Bulks embarked on a significant transition, relocating to a new warehouse and expanding its product offerings to encompass a remarkable 5,000 components. This pivotal year also marked the introduction of a new website, not crafted by Ben, and the debut of a printed catalogue.
Over the subsequent years, Wire Bulks experienced exponential growth, characterized by a surge in staff numbers, a substantial increase in the product line-up, and the penetration of diverse markets. The pinnacle of this expansion came in 2020 with the celebration of Wire Bulks’ one millionth order.
By 2021, WireBulks had outgrown its confines yet again, moving into a spacious 7,000-square-foot warehouse and processing approximately 25,000 orders each month. The product range had expanded to an impressive 15,000 parts, bolstered by esteemed manufacturers such as Wago, Hammond, and IDEC.
Towards the conclusion of 2022, Ben’s exceptional accomplishments were duly recognized as he clinched the region’s ‘Young Entrepreneur Award.’ The year culminated in WireBulks achieving its most prosperous year to date, marking a testament to Ben’s leadership and vision.
